Faq

SMAD is a group of practitioners who regularly come together to share knowledge, solve problems, and grow their craft. For Scrum Masters, delivery leads, product owners, Agile Coaches and everyone and anyone wants a place to connect and network with professionals. it’s a space to explore Agile practices, leadership, facilitation, and more.

Anyone currently working as a Scrum Master, aspiring to become one, or practicing Agile facilitation is welcome—regardless of experience level. Basically anyone wanting to network with other professionals as well

We meet bi- weekly for structured sessions and annual host pop-up events, retros, or workshops.

Each session might include a guest speaker, roundtable discussion, knowledge share, or practical exercises (like Liberating Structures or facilitation techniques).

Currently, membership is free and open to professionals who are committed to growing in Agile/Scrum roles or seeking to network as a professional

Nope! Certification is not required. The community values practical experience and the willingness to learn.

You can participate by joining our bi-weekly calls, attend the yearly events and pop up shops, conferences and workshops. You can also lead a session or retrospective for the community, share a challenge or success story, suggest topics or speakers, help with logistics or promotion

Most sessions are not recorded to encourage open conversation, but we share summaries and resources in our private group or newsletter.

We meet virtually and in person during the conferences and pop-ups(when possible). In-person events are often in Raleigh or surrounding areas.

Vision statement

We’re an online and offline agile enthusiast group hosting live speaking events on a range of tech topics seeking to expand our knowledge & capabilities. We primarily identify as a black minority group, but we encourage active participation from all races and places.
